never buy crackers again!

This cracker recipe is as delicious as it is simple! Two ingredients, plus sea salt, and the seasoning of your choice if you wish to add.

  • 1 cup ground flax seeds. You can either buy them ground, or grind the whole seeds in a blender or coffee grinder.

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Sea salt, more than you think you need. Two teaspoons is a good start.

  • Option

    • Replace 1/4 cup of the flax seeds with lightly ground sunflower, pumpkin or chia seeds.

Mix mix mix until it forms a “dough”. That’s it! For real. It may seem like it won’t old together but it does.

Roll out into a thin layer, onto parchment paper or better yet, a silicone mat (less waste!) I use this one. Slice into squares, and place mat or paper onto a sheet pan into a 215 degree preheated oven for approx. 75-90 minutes. They should be super crunchy when they’re done so if they aren’t snappy after 75 minutes, let them bake a little longer. It depends how thinly you roll them out, but obviously the thinner, the less time!

Some of my favourite seasoning suggestions:

Poco for a mild kick

Rosemary Garlic for a classic favourite

Roasted Garlic for the perfect base for any spread

Curry for something different and the perfect marriage for a chutney!
